Your primary goal here is to generate options rather than to assess them

Try the following tasks

• Work towards your ideal solution
  
  Take another look at the ideal solution you described above.
  
  What are the real-world constraints that seem to prevent this from happening?
  
  Ask yourself: Are all these actual constraints? How might they be overcome?
  
  Build these ideas into an option
  
  
• Brainstorm
  
  
  1. Restate the decision (stage 1) 'In how many ways can we fulfil all that matters…' (stage 2)
     
     
  2. Think up options, following these rules
     
     1. Suspend judgement (do not evaluate).
        
     2. Free wheel (don't have any inhibitions).
        
     3. Value quantity (not quality).
        
     4. Cross-fertilise (let new ideas sprout from old ones).
        
     
     
  3. Finish with the wildest idea you can think of!
     
  
  
• Breed new options
  
  Take a look at all the options you generated from a and b above, and "breed" options by combining two or more into one new option. Bear in mind that likely options are win-win options that satisfy as many weighty values as possible
  
  Write down the most likely looking options in the first row table in the section below (ignore the first two columns for now).
